2001 Nike 'Snowplow' Commercial
In December 2001, Nike launched its “Enjoy the Weather” advertising campaign to promote the company’s winter product line, including the Air Shasta, Air Contego, and in this case the Air Crested Butte. Created by Wieden & Kennedy, Nike’s longtime agency partner, the campaign included three television spots featuring athletes taking on harsh weather conditions in cities across the United States. This spot features Olympic runner Marion Jones following a snowplow, with other neighborhood runners joining in along the way.
The objective of “Enjoy the Weather” was to inspire people to stay active outdoors regardless of the conditions, with the help of Nike’s latest winter products, of course. The television spots aired during primetime network and cable programming, late-night shows, and major sporting events. The campaign also extended to print, with two-page spreads appearing in Maxim, Sports Illustrated, and ESPN Magazine.

In honor of Halloween, enjoy Nike’s controversial slasher-themed commercial from 2000 starring former USA Olympic Runner Suzy Favor Hamilton. The ad aired briefly during the 2000 Summer Olympics, blending sports with horror before being pulled off the air due to viewer complaints.
