Ever since the first pairs of Shox launched in 2000, Nike looked to expand the line with new, unique silhouettes that featured their latest eye-catching sole technology. The Shox Ride are an often overlooked Shox model from this period that never quite caught fire.

When referring to the Shox Ride, people tend to think of the Shox Ride II due to the recent Supreme collab in 2022. The first iteration seen here gets far less attention and has never received a retro.

While the overall shape and sole are similar, the details on the upper bear some differences. The first Shox Ride takes a simpler approach with large mesh paneling and classic Shox colors consisting of mostly silver and black to create some clean color blocking. The middle mesh panel containing the swoosh is surprisingly not your typical mesh material, but instead a steel-like wire material. The tongue and heel have matching Shox logos surrounded with 3m accents to round out the swift design.
