The Nike ACG Considered Longball Lace debuted as one of the most experimental and distinctive shoes Nike produced during its sustainability-focused era. Its unique seam pattern, inspired by a deconstructed baseball, not only gave the shoe its “Longball” name, but also became one of the most defining visual signatures within the ACG lineup. Built with a tumbled leather upper, exposed external stitching, and a cork footbed, it minimized the use of adhesives and created a natural, handcrafted aesthetic. The entire upper was sewn together with a single hemp shoelace and fastened directly to the sole—an approach influenced by the ancient Albanian Opanek construction method. Made without any glues or chemicals, the Longball Lace was completely biodegradable and fully sustainable, allowing 100% of its components to be recycled. The combination of moccasin-like construction and Footscape-style asymmetry made it both functional and visually unconventional.
