Like other Air Max releases before it, The Nike Air Max 360 was a monumental innovation in the iconic Air Max lineage as it was the first shoe that abandoned the old guard ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) foam midsole in place of a full-length 360-degree air sole unit, which allowed runners to experience “360 degrees of Nike Air cushioning". It retailed at a price of $160 and offered maximum comfort and protection without compromising weight or midsole breakdown over time - two common characteristics in early generation runners.
The Air Max 360 2 had some slight design differences from the first release. It featured breathable mesh upper, a larger swoosh, and accented piping. This specific pair showcases a 360 degree camouflage print under the mesh. The outsole for both the 1 & 2 is a durable BRS 1000™ rubber outsole with deep forefoot flex grooves.
Fun fact, in 2007, the Nike Air Max 360 II was made available on Nike iD and customers were able to customize the model in a wide array of colors. Eventually the Air Max 360 technology branched into other sport lines - primarily basketball. Despite this, it is one of several Air Max models that has never received a retro since its initial release.
