The Wave Inspire is a stability running shoe known for its cushioning and support, designed to help runners with overpronation whose feet rotate inwards. It features Mizuno's signature midsole technology, The Wave – a plate structure typically made of a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), embedded in the midsole to disperse impact. The first Wave technology debuted in 1997, and since then Mizuno has continued tweaking the build to form different models.

The Wave Inspire is one of those models. Now on its 21st iteration, the line has remained strong for nearly 20 years. The Wave Inspire 4 released in 2008 and was designed slightly narrower than the first 3 versions to better hug the runner's heel, preventing unwanted slippage. With this pair, Mizuno introduced the Dynamotion Fit system, which prevented the shoe from deforming upon landing, keeping the shoe in contact with the foot at all times. The upper sports a classic mid2000s runners look with wide-hole mesh, sleek silver paneling, and vibrant yellow accents.

Although this pair is never worn, it's 17 years old and to be worn with care as with all vintage footwear. 100% wearability cannot be guaranteed.
