2009 Mizuno Wave Rider 12
Condition: Deadstock, comes with OG box.
Size: 10W/8.5M
The original Wave Rider debuted in 1997 and was the first shoe to introduce Mizuno's signature Infinity Wave plate technology. Now on Wave Rider number 29, the line has stood the test of time, spanning nearly 3 decades.
Iteration number 12 of the Wave Rider was the first to introduce Gender Engineering. It supplied a different more stable fit for men, and a narrow, more flexible ride for women. This pair also incorporated a Pebax Wave Plate for a weather resistant midsole. This bio-based Pebax Rnew material was derived from castor oil, aimed at reducing its carbon print on the planet.
The Infinity Wave technology is still one of Mizunos prime tech innovations to this day. The Wave replaces traditional foam midsoles with two Wave plates, arranged in a figure-eight pattern, and features soft cushioning pillars in between. This mechanical construction is designed to last longer and offer consistent cushioning throughout the life of the shoe, unlike foam midsoles that can wear down over time.
Although this pair is never worn, it's 16 years old and to be worn with care as with all vintage footwear. 100% wearability cannot be guaranteed.
