Over the years Nike has produced a long list of ACG models, some of which didn't have the warmest reception upon release. However, these models tend to age like wine and look better with time, such is the case with the Salbolier.

The origin for the name Salbolier is a mystery as this model is a somewhat lesser‐documented outdoor silhouette. It debuted as a technical-hiking/trail style model evident by its waterproof upper, rugged outsole, rubber toegurd, suede/mesh uppers, and trekking aesthetics. Nike chose to release both a low and mid cut version in a handful of earth-tone inspired colorways. The boots are noticeably light on branding with the minuscule swoosh on the side panel and ACG imprint on the insole serving as the only logos.
